My future wife wants to go somewhere warm after our wedding. I think I am leaning towards one of those all inclusive places (a Sandals perhaps). All she cares about is the warm weather and having a nice beach. I'd like to be in a place where I could go fishing for a day or something.

Any suggestions?

Spent a couple of Februarys in Playa Del Carmen just south of Cancun.
Snorkling, fishing, mayan ruins, beaches,Fantastic-Cozumel is a short ferry ride. You miss all of the kids in Cancun but cannot avoid topless europeans.

Cabo San Lucas.. Stay at the Sol a Mar. Fish with Bob and Minnie Smith on one of the Minerva Fleet boats.

Lots of good food and lots of good party.. Not to mention the fishing. Take a trip up to Todo Santos and have Margaritas with the Monks and listen to some great jazz..

I prefer to stay where my money and the legal system is familiar, and where I don't feel quite so much like everyone is out to rip me off...

I love the fishing in Mexico...it's just too bad it's in Mexico.

Smalls,

If I where you, I would call off the wedding at the last minute, hawk the wedding gifts, and use the proceeds to go on a sheep hunt.

Hmmm..... I've already spent way to much money that I can't get back to back out now. Even if she backed out (which she won't) you would find me in my tux, drinking beer and eating barbecued beef that night. Plus, it will be one HELL of a party.

Sunday we're headed to Missoula to register for gifts. My fiance said she saw where we could register at Sportsmans Warehouse hump hump I wouldn't be offended if my hunttalk brethren wanted to all chip in and get me a swarovski spotter with hidef glass :D

Danr, is the Sol a Mar all inclusive? What are the beaches like in Cabo? What other stuff do you do down there?

Kona, Hawaii ! Depending on when you go, you can have some Awesum fishing, or tote a weapon with you and chase Pigs, Mouflon, Turkeys, Spanish goats.

I don't know if they have all inclusive packages or not. I can probably find out for you if you are interested. If not there, there are several "clubs" between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo that do have all inclusive packages..

Let's see.. What else do they do down there?? You mean besides drink and eat and look at some of the prettiest sunsets in the world? They Scuba dive, surf, swim, lay on the beach,....Oh, did I mention party? There are several different exploratory trips you can take inland. There is dancing everynight somewhere. CaboWabo is a pretty famous night spot as is the Giggling Marlin. There is also a monastary about 40 miles north of Cabo that is a neat place to go.. Los Hermanos de Todo Santos make some of the finest wine in Mexico. They also have a great jazz combo and they party every Tuesday night.

You can go hang gliding, kite skiing, ride the Banana boat, and take a cocktail cruise in the evening. Lots of shopping and sites to see. Never met anyone who was bored after a week in Cabo. Lots of people were tired, but they all wanted to go back.

I have recently become addicted to cruises. you can basically plan what you want, and if you watch the prices you can get them for less than $100/day. Hard to beat that when you consider what the cost per day would be in a hotel plus the $$$$ for food. And you get lots and lots and lots and lots (you get the idea) gourmet food on the boat. At some ports you can even schedule a big game fishing trip. If you would like a few websites we keep track of prices on just PM me.

I would recomend a Cruise. I've been to Mexico, Cabos, Playa De Carma, and several other places. We took a Caribian Cruise last year and Although I thought it was For Old Fogies, It's top on my list of Vacations this year !!!!!

HAHAHAH, Looks like I was typing out a post when Wyotim was too. Looks like we're both found a Good way to vacation. One thing is the Food, HOOOO-LEEEE-CRAP, Bring bigger pants because you eat 23 hours a day. One thing nice about the Cruise is there is 3 things to do, Sleep, Eat , and Screw...in lightbulbs ;) I tell you what, We did a Cruise last year and did the tours at each port, We did some Scubadiving, We rode Jet boats, shopped, and had fun 24 hours a Day. You can stay on the ship for 7 days and not get board. They always have activities that you can go to and Comedy shows and plays and movies, Rock climbing, Ping pong, Shuffle board, Swimming pools, Jacuzzi..... and Gambling and the list just goes on. HEll, go with some Friends and you'll have a Blast too !!! MAtter of fact, when are you going ? Invite me and The Mrs, Have intrest, fun and willing to party on the spare of the moment ;)

Kona is a great spot, but you'd better have money if you go there!
Nikster's got the right idea...
In Playa Del Carmen, the two of you can take a boat out for 1/3 what it is in Kona.
Some resorts are adult only and most are all inclusive. The beach is great and filled with exposed Europeans, fishing is everywhere!
Whatever you decide, make sure she enjoys, cause if you mess up the honeymoon you'll be out of the loop when it comes to planing future vacations!
Congrats Smalls and good luck!

LOL... Good point Moosie!!
Just last night a buddy was complaining about having to do the laundry, I told him to cook a couple of his lady's shirts in hot water then set to dry for an hour and a half and she'll never let him touch the laundry again!
Laziness sure can make us cruel! :D
