The mother in law horse is classic! The Jim Corbett scene also. I just watched Tom Horn last week.

Steve McQeen had love for Montana and often visited incognito, appearing much like just an itinerant ranch hand and driving an older Ford pickup (Yep, a Ford, Muley.) There is a story of him meeting and befriending an old rancher in the Bitterroot Valley, then being hired for a short season by the rancher. It was only later that the rancher finally realized what a celebrity ranch hand he had befriended and hired.

A doctor friend of mine's dad was a co-pilot and his B-17 was shot down over Germany in WWll. He was in the same stockade two months after the escape and brought back implements/tools made to dig a tunnel. What priceless artifacts, too bad they can't talk.

In Great Escape, SM was not allowed to do the motorcycle fence jump. No, Steve McQueen did not jump the barbed-wire fence in The Great Escape (1963). His close friend and top stunt rider, Bud Ekins, performed the iconic 60-foot motorcycle leap.

A neighbor of mine has a VERY impressive collection of motorcycles, many of them extremely rare or limited. Has a set of all 5 production years of Triumph 650 TT race bikes. Everything has been restored and in museum condition. He's built and bought multiple award winning street rods and very rare cars worth multiple hundreds of thousands each. He showed me one bike that was supposed to have been in The Great Escape but had no documentation that McQueen actually rode it himself.
