Here are some bears that are a bit trickery to identify than what you get in bear quiz by the states. All are from a google search of Grizzly... are they?

Man, those are some tough ones. Here are my answers:

1. Grizzly
2. Black bear
3. Tough to tell....would guess grizzly

If 1 and 3 are black bears, I definitely wouldn't feel ok taking a shot at either.

One perspective shots on bears can make ID tough. Thankfully in the woods you get more than that. If you look at videos of bears, its much easier to make an ID when looking at young or color-phase bears.

Grizzly, black, grizzly. Only ever saw 2 grizzlies in my life and that was 10yrs ago but those look like grizz to me. Man those color phase blackies are beautiful. All our black bears here are jet black.

Which seems to be the consensus
One biologist thought the 1st could be a black bear and that they couldn't be 100% from just that picture... which says to me that when you're out there be careful, take your time, and observe the bears as long as possible.
