Spring bear national forest ?

Hey guys! My girlfriend and I are doing a spot n stalk archery hunt in the lewis and Clark national forest this coming spring. With previous mountain experience I plan on packing in and setting camp up as we find bears instead of hauling back to the truck every night. Does anyone know of I need permits in order to camp outside of campgrounds? I'm used to private land in Colorado. Also are you allowed to leave vehicles unattended at gates? I can always give them a shout at the ranger office which I'm planning to here in a few weeks but thought id see what you guys thought was best. Thanks a bunch and hope everyone had and is having a great season.

Just don't block the gate and you're fine. No need to get a permit to camp on NF.
