check the NOAA weather forecast for Fairfield tomorrow...supposed to be pretty crappy.

I was going to run over there this afternoon, but weather looked pretty crappy. Not sure how many birds are around. I called on Wed and I think they only estimated 2-5k snows.

Went out fishing Sat. afternoon on the Missouri out side of Ft. Benton. Just as we were loading up around dark we heard and saw a couple thousand get up off a field a few miles off of the river. With the weather we got last night and what we are supposed to get today (mostly the wind NNW) they should be sticking around for a little while.

Most of the snows left the day I showed up last week, but I still had a pretty good time and found some birds.

I looked for collared swans while there, but didn't see any. Low and behold, while I was sorting some pics today, I see I accidently got a collared in this shot.

Thanks. I agree, great place. I will return.

Looks like more of that good-for-nuttin' public land in need of maintenance to me. At least we may not have to endure adding any more of those eyesores for the public to enjoy..

Thanks for sharing the great pics.

Don't tell me that's the first time you've been there for the spring spectacle.......

I have been by there a few times, but never during the migration. I am guessing this will become an annual event for me.

Miller - you always have great pics. What are you shooting these pics with?

Randy, after years of Bynum giving me a hard time about purchasing a DSLR, I broke down and bought a D90 last spring. I can't wait to get out and shoot some leks....that is if everything dries out before the end of April.:D

It's amazing the wonderful things that take place right under our noses and we don't seek em out and take the opportunity to do/see/experience them. As I get older I have tended not to let as many opportunities slip away.....sharptails/sagers on leks is on the list. 27 years in MT, haven't done that one yet....sad - but will be remedied.
