Here are some pictures from 2009. This is my favorite way to hunt, out of a backpack, hiking into the back country, away from the crowds and in the elk! My dad and I setup camp 5 miles from the trailhead and I called in this nice bull another mile past camp. I quartered and boned the elk and put the meat in game bags and placed them in the shade. Then we headed back to camp, broke it down and headed to the trailhead/truck. We left our packs there, ate lunch, grabbed our packframes and headed back to pack out my bull. All in all, it was about a 20 mile day.
