Hello t all,
I am SFC B (Born) and I am stationed at Fort Carson, CO. I am an 18 year (and 2 months but who is counting) vet of the Army and am currently assigned to 10th SFG(A). I am 43 but have only been hunting for 6 seasons. I grew up in the inner city in Indianapolis. Between moving when my parents divorced and the Army I have lived in the folloing: Indiana, Conneticut, Michigan, Georgia, Washington state, North Carolina, Colorado, Italy, England and of course Iraq and Afg!! We have settled here in CO and love everything about it. I am happy that my son an daughter both like to hunt so far. As of right now I am the only one in the house that will go back country. As far as hunting goes Ihave hunted Elk and whitetail. One elk season equalled a 5x5 on pubic wilderness last year :) 5 whitetail seasons have brought 3 from IN, 3 from TX and one from WA state (the biggest so far is +- 130) . So that is who I am. Can't wat to hear from you all.

Welcome, Brother, and congrats on sanctuary. Fort Carson is a beautiful place, wish I could have spent more time there, only TDY so far. It is a much better experience humping those Colorado mountains after elk.

Welcome SFC!

How do you like being told 30 round magazines shouldn't be in your hands here in CO?

Maybe sometime we can grab a beer, I'm just north of you.

Thanks for your commitment to protecting our country.

Sounds like you've done well for only hunting 6 seasons.

Welcome SFC. Its good to have another Hoosier on board. Thanks for your service.

Rut Junkey...plenty of us in the Army!! In my regular Army days I used to make my Joes sing this for cadence "Hoosier Born, Hoosier Bred....When I die, I'll be Hoosier DEAD!" :) I love and miss home BUT the Rockies are not in Indiana :(

Well....let's just say that I will ensure that me and mine ALWAYS have access :) I live on the North side of the Springs near the Academy. If you are in the AO drop me a PM.

MH,
I had to do a year at Bragg to get out here (thought that was going to kill me...I don't know how the 82nd guys can stomach that toilet of a city/state) but it was worth it. If you have to make some narc transaction to get here you should. It is better than I could have hoped for. By far the best place we have lived. It is strange too because they have 4 AF facilities (Pete, Schriever, Cheyenne Mtn, and the USAFA) and Carson but it is not a jacked up military town. Very liveable, great schools, low taxes, great parks and the weather is outrageous....guess I should work for the tourism board :)

Will do!

Make sure you take advantage of the offer from Magpul also if you need some more supplies.

Here are some random pics of my hunting so far....BTW the muley is in my front yard :)

Welcome to the board, enjoyed the pics and hunting story! Two of my elk hunting buddies are Army guys, yall are alright. ;)

Our camp this year included myself (Army), my buddy (retired Navy), his dad (retired Army), two of my buddy's saliors from back in the day and their father and brother. It is always good to hang with fellow vets, you never really have to worry about folks pulling their weight or whining too much :)
