I am a new member to hunt talk. I have been sent a few great stories that originated on this site and enjoyed picking through a few of the topics. I thought I may have a few stories of my own to tell.
I am from NE MT, and lived in various places in MT my entire life. I have a military and agricultural background, do a little bit of taxidermy for self, friends, and family, pick a guitar from time to time, and spend my fall hunting.
I get as much or more enjoyment behind the glass as my kids or friends experience a hunt, as when the tag is mine. I’ve been unlucky, and very fortunate, I’ve spent entire hunting seasons chasing one specific animal and came home empty handed, but I don’t recall ever considering it as unsuccessful. I’ve watched my kids work through problems in the field, push themselves, and it has bonded great friends and family. I’m here for the hunting stories. So long as I have bonus points, I will never leave Montana.
