Self defense pistol recommendations.

I wonder how many folks contributing to this thread have actually killed or tried to kill a living creature weighing over 150 lbs. with a 9mm under any circumstances…

I shot a giant mountain goat with a .357. Shit….it was even a revolver. I can’t believe I’m still alive to tell the story.

I am in the market for a Glock though.
Sounds like the 43x is the way to go.

Good choice.

The 48 is pretty nice too. If you’re going to shoot a lot of rounds through it you might go that route.

They said Glock 45 is real nice. Carried the 19. Firm grip. Loved the .357 though.

Mmm... Gen 3 19. Often thought of as the best vintage.

Like you, I’m not really a pistol guy but in the unfortunate scenario where someone needs shot by one, I usually have one nearby.
I like the Glock 43x.

I think it was Jack O’Connor that said “A man that likes to hunt sheep and doesn’t like pistols should have a portable one as he will carry it far more than he will shoot it”.

Perhaps I altered the quote slightly.

I'd encourage you to do a side by side with 43X and the 48. I went the way of the 43X, if I did it again zero doubt I'd go with the 48.

And actually a few years back I got a Sig P365 with an Optic and it far and away is my fav and I am a huge Glock fan..

[Mato]

P365 with optic, once you go Optic you'll not go back.... and i love the O-G holster OWB

Here's my P365 and my 43X

I’ve got the Sig 365xl and had trouble with the screws to put an optic on. Lots of bs from Sig but they finally agreed to fix it for me if I paid shipping. I said FU and bought me a Glock 43x and love it. That being said I put a Wilson combat frame on the Sig and love it too, just no optic. Sig just pissed me off with their attitude and I’ll never buy another

You guys mounting optics on a handgun need to really do your homework on screws, loctite, and torque values.
