I'm one of those who has his feet in each forum. I don't necessarily get the forum bashing either. I do think I'm going to spend minimal time in General Discussion over there, too easy to get sucked in and I don't need the drama. Both forums have positives and negatives. Hard to beat the technical gear side of Rokslide, and there is some really good stuff going on in the subforums. Hunttalk is fascinating to me for the conservation info and, of course, some top shelf hunt reports every fall.
I'm not a Rokslider or a Hunttalker, just a guy who likes to read about hunting.
Seems anyone left of Viktor Orban would be labeled a communist on that site.
I'd never heard of 24hourcampfire until today and I wish I hadn't. I can't really believe people feel comfortable saying some of those things on a public forum, even posting anonymously. I feel like harboring that kind of hate in a person's heart has to be exhausting. Also... pardon my language, as I find no other way to describe it, but the amount of Putin c*m-guzzling on there is absolutely insane.

There is literally a guy with a giant Russian Flag Z in his signature. After the mass murders in Bucha and elsewhere, anyone who would proudly display the Z aesthetic is clearly scum. It's a seriously disgusting website filled with the least serious people. I wonder how social media would melted simple minded American brains circa 1944. Scary stuff to consider.

Yup - the veil is off. It is not 'merica they love, it is the memory of a time when non-whites, women and gays were kept to heal by a strong white male govt. that they love. Thankfully the US is no longer that place, but Russia is. I suggest they consider emigration.

It’s healthy to visit the ‘fire now and then for a reality check. It’s like driving through the worst parts of America…there are a few great people, but mostly it makes you thankful you’re not out of your mind.
I use various forums for research and classifieds, but this is the only one I really post on anymore. They all have pros and cons.
It matters none, but I’m stuck at home with closed roads so…
The ‘Fire: Some of the custom rifle and related gear knowledge is good. Lots of guys that I’m pretty sure quit hunting two decades ago. Unlimited supply of train wreck entertainment available. Voted most likely to have members on government watch lists.
HuntTalk: Generally good discussion, good conservation knowledge base, and a decent percentage of very skilled hunters. It’s made progress, but has been pretty far behind on modern outdoor and shooting tech. Voted most likely membership to sternly holler “Get off my lawn!” and provide some really well thought out reasons why.
Rokslide: I’ll show you my Kifaru tattoo if you show me yours. There are about 12 saints who cannot be questioned, and are so full of hypocrisy and BS it’s just not worth the squeeze. Voted most likely membership to hardcore DIY backpack hunt a pronghorn doe. I do love me the classifieds though…
Snipershide: Great for emerging trends in and anything that can be learned from people who shoot match level volume. Voted most likely to have a rifle worth more than my truck. That rifle has been shot 3 times, or 6 barrels worth, depends on the member…
6mmbr: Tough to beat for benchrest-type minutia research and old wildcat data. Voted most likely to lose members due to old age and memory loss.
Monstermuleys: I don’t even know what I’m looking at half the time.
I used to frequent mountainproject, cascadeclimbers, summitpost and some other climbing/outdoor forums. They can be OK for gear research but I mostly just use them for selling stuff. People do tend to get along better on those, probably because political opinions tend to be more alike than different among those groups.
I use backpackinglight for specific equipment and apparel research, and they have some pretty good science based articles on gear.

In being completely honest I perused so quickly over those screen shots I didn't read them. My thoughts were what is being grandstanded here is almost as bad as the fool who originally posted them on the 24hr. I'm not sensitive so I am not offended. However, It is very bad moderation to allow those posts on 24hr and since we are all saints on HT the said copies shouldn't be posted here either if its that offensive.
My comment birthed from the constant forum bashing on HT mostly towards Rokslide> I haven't been on 24hr in a long time, I do very much enjoy the diversity of thinking on Rokslid and MM and years back eastmans.
Yes all public forums have no place for racist and sexist content.

I am not saying it that way. Could have been done with more tact since it was so offensive to so many. Do you post the picture of the child porn scene when you have the evidence? In this case reference would suffice
There are some Montana residents there that swear that bicyclists on the road are ruining their lives. LOL. They are nasty about it too.
