I have a Savage Model 1895 in a 303 savage that originally was purchased by my great, great grandfather. Somewhere in the past 125 years, the stock and forend have been replaced with some junky wood that doesn't match (the butt is walnut and the forend is oak). Does anyone know how I could find or get the specs to build a stock/forend combo so that it looks like a more traditional Savage 1895? I would also like to get my hands on an original butt plate too. I find all kinds of things on the internet for Savage 99s but not very much on the 1895.20200412_194509_rot.jpg

Nice old lever gun, worthy of some wood restoration. Per google, 1895s have crescent butt plates. You might have seen this link:

"Arthur William Savage (1857 - 1938), a native of Kingston, Jamaica, set out to design a repeating rifle based on the British Martini-Henry single-shot breechloader."
