St Vincent Island, Fla has a drawing for a Sambar deer hunt. Bow or MZ, usually in Nov sometime.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the draw for this hunt is over...right? I applied a number of months ago figuring I might get lucky on my one and only application...I was wrong.

St Vincent Island is a stone's throw from my house in Mexico Beach.

No, as I said, it was my one and only app I will be filling out. I get to punch out of here in May (thank goodness). Had I drawn, I have a bud with a boat, plus I have a yak and I do believe you can get a ferry to the island.

Likely will be Tinker (the Mecca for us Air Weapons Officers), but I'm hoping for Elmo. If I can't get on one of the two AWACS at Elmo next year, my final assignment could very well be there. The latter would actually work out best for the family since my oldest daughter would be in the 10th grade and I would not have to worry about moving her during those important years.

I've got my plane ticket to come up May 12th though. Looking forward to two weeks of R&R there.
