Hey guys,

I am a grad student at Lewis University and I am conducting a research project on how consumers are booking their hunting and fishing trips. I was hoping I could get your help with my survey. It is pretty short and should only take about 5 minutes. Also, I have received approval from Randy and Kim. Please click the following link to participate:

Thanks for your participation,
Jake

Took the survey. I'll bet the statistics on a mainly DIY hunting website may be a little off of what a booking agent may expect.

I agree with Schaaf. Pretty sure most from here are going to answer the same way I did.

I have received enough respondents, so there is no need for any more participation. Thank you very much for your help!

I do not do research, so I do not know and I apologize for possibly a stupid question. If you can easily more obtain results to your survey why would you limit your sample pool? Wouldn't a larger number of respondents one way or another solidify your results further?

Gellar, you are absolutely correct. A larger sample size is definitely better for accuracy. However, I have received roughly 250 responses from posting this survey on various forums. This will give me a margin of error of roughly +- 6%, and will be sufficient for my academic purposes. Additionally, I was unaware when I posted the survey that is this was primarily DIY site, and I am worried the data may skew my results. However, I am excited to check out this forum a little deeper, because I am very interested in learning more about DIY Hunts.

I believe, that with this being a DIY site it will give more credibility to your results because a large segment of hunters are DIY and many people who want to go on hunting trips cannot afford outfitters and such but do not realize that you can do out of state hunts DIY. Also, many of us may be DIY, but we still have to use agents to book accomodations and travel. For instance we took a DIY salmon fishing trip to Wisconsin this fall using our boat and equipment but went through the website Vacation Rentals by Owner for our overnight accomodations.

I like your thought process. I will reopen the survey. Thanks for your interest and your input, it is very much appreciated.
