Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Was referencing the increasing cost of many consumer goods that most people (including Floridians) buy, largely due to tariffs and tariff fallout with our trade partners.
For the discussion, do you have a small list of items that cost consumers more because of tariffs and "tariff fallout"?

State of Florida proposed budget.

Florida's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026–27, introduced by Governor DeSantis in December 2025, totals $117.4 billion, focusing on $16.75 billion in reserves, $250 million for debt reduction, and continued tax relief.

Mandani's proposed budget for NYC....$127 billion dollars.

Who is driving up the costs more?

Florida population 24.5 million.

NYC population 8.5 million
Probably don’t wanna talk about a clip I just saw saying he is gonna get into the cities rainy day fund and take money out of the retires trust fund also. Since the property tax won’t cover it all

Right there is some fantastic tinfoil hat fodder. 'Wonder what 17rem would think.
:LOL::LOL::LOL:
I am of the mind when someone tells you their plans, you should listen. DSA and Mamdani have made claims that align with this. At some point, NYC voters will realize the scam that is hardcore “democratic” socialism and hopefully reject it. Have you seen the statements from his housing czar, Cea Weaver?

Come on Kevin Hassett looks like a total trust-worthy and qualified individual...at ball washing.
Yep. Report after report says tariffs are passed onto US consumers and higher prices are the result.

There are a boatload of bad news messagers Hassett wants us to ignore!

So, nobody can post a small list of consumer products that were increased because of tariffs. Got it. :D

You're on a computer...try using it. Whole list of chit that has increased in prices due to tariffs. Food, furniture, clothing, electronics...anything that's imported and its not a guess who pays those tariffs.

These idiots over at yale have all these words and graphs... ugh.

and if you want to get specific, you can read what these dickholes from Duke have to say about wine tariffs.

Why would you remove that item? We use it everyday, almost all of us. Serious question.
To make a point. Gasoline is pretty volatile; it goes up and comes down, I've paid 2/gal and 7.5/gal and that difference doesn't necessarily reflect inflation as a whole.

The below article has a handful of anecdotes covering numerous products from various origins.

I only recently became aware of how some of the tariffs are being implemented due to a bill a coworker received. The coworker purchased a garment from Europe in the fall, paid the full amount including applicable taxes. They received the item, then a month later they received a (surprise) tariff bill from FedEx. Fedex paid the tariff at time of arrival in the US to avoid other charges and later billed for reimbursement.
