Recover elk after season ends in Utah

Does anyone know the rules for recovering an animal after the season is over? My friend had a Utah le rifle tag and his elk has been found 4 weeks later. What does he need to do to recover the antlers?

Best thing would be call their Fish & Game or Dept. of Wildlife in the morning and explain the situation and ask them how to proceed. Hopefully it's an easy process, good luck.

His tag is not valid and deadheads can't be picked up. Call the dept, they'll check it with a metal detector and decide disposition.
