To Pop Pop! My first grand (blood) daughter this afternoon 3 1/2 weeks early weighing in at a fat 5.1 lbs. Daughter's hubby's daughter is still a grand daughter to me. I don't believe in calling kids step this and that.So guessing I will spoil both of them.

Going to have just a tad of bourbon this eve while gram is back to hospital with one of the grandsons.

Don't know if you all know that Sytes and the Mrs had offered up the use of their equipment for my daughter when she was going to run the Missou Marathon so her and the boys could go camping while she was in MT so she didn't have to pack her truck to the hilt. That is just the kind of folks they are. But, alas at last minute she had to drop out. Just want to meet the both of them some time.

Thanks guys! Please, you don't need to call me sir, but I appreciate it. I answer more to DH, ND or A....le. Hang around with a varied group of folks from a guy on the bench to iron workers. Good group of individuals who all hunt. All in all, we like the same things and only one has been married less that 20 years.

I will certainly raise one for you this evening idnative. Congrats! Now, where are the pics of this new trophy / beauty.

You a funnny guy! Put the two daughters through college and had the both of them draining me for one year before oldest graduated. She has a geology degree and is a planner for a highway department. Youngest secondary ed degree and works for the county in indigent services.

Congratulations Gramps! Now if you want to adopt a couple more, I have twin grandaughters who graduate HS this year and might need some help with tuition.

My kids were but a year apart so had them both at uni for three years. That was three years I didn't get to go to CO to hunt. My son was an art major so we had an open ended account at an art supply store. His supplies were more than tuition, but he has his own design firm now with 15 employees, so he's one of the few artists I know who make a living at art. Now one of his twins has received a 20K scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design for each of the next four years. That's only about 45% of the total cost, but it's a big help. He's grooming her to take over the company when he gets ready to retire.

Art school costs over $10,000 a year? Wow

This one does, but art isn't their only discipline. They're a highly touted school, possibly overrated, but time will tell. I got my college education partially on the GI Bill at night while working a full time job and raising a family. How times and situations change!!

Update on Gracie-

Has been having some issues with oxygen levels and low heart rate also having trouble passing her car seat tests. Finally this evening they kicked her and mommy out and on no monitor (at 3 1/2 weeks early). Just hope she is good to go. At any rate, all home and doing well other than the brothers who are having some attention issues now, but will get through that.Thinking I should set up the BB gun range in the garage and let them shoot off some frustrations this weekend.

IDN, hope both are fine and little Gracie will be OK with any development issues. My daughter was 7 weeks early (3 1/4 lbs.), and we worried about her for years, but it was for naught, for you'd never be able to guess it now.
The boys will need some distraction for sure, but make every effort to involve them in her care,(at least within their abilities), and you'd be surprised how quickly they'll assume responsibility and adjust accordingly.
