Feeling pretty good!

Nope, nothing about my health. It's about my head. Today is my youngest girl's birthday and this morning her boyfriend sent me a text. My first thought was something was wrong. That wasn't the case. He was inviting me over for dinner with them and even had me pick out something from the menu of the sushi joint she likes. He said I was part of the surprise for her. OK, I'll be there. Shortly after I get there he starts asking us a list of questions. Didn't know what the hell he was up to and then it wrapped up with him saying that he was sending my daughter and I to see one of our favorite bands next summer! We both kind of stood there in shock letting it sink in. Never saw THAT coming! This kid has been great with my daughter. He's a terrific father and jumps right in when something needs done. I'm fairly protective with my baby girl and I actually have zero things bad to say about him. He could use a couple cheeseburgers, but overall I'm happy with how things are. It makes me feel good that my girl AND my granddaughter are being taken care of. Pretty sure my wife would have felt the same way. I'm smiling inside for a change. Happy. Not a lot does that for me lately. Not sure what made me post this. Just figured I would share that there are some good guys out there taking care of their families and not being the jerks that we read about in the news. So yeah, I'm feeling pretty good!

In todays day and age with all that is going on, it sure is nice to hear about people that do the right thing.

Remember those words the next time you two find yourselves at an impasse, or when he does something that you find unsavory. Nobody’s perfect, and it’s great to hear he’s done everything right in your eyes thus far. Don’t forget to tell him that too! Some of you old farts don’t like to give us young guys big heads, and I get it….
