While he won't be going to a big school, my grandson will be playing football in the fall at an old and highly respected private school in Virginia. Last night I learned he had been awarded another scholarship; not a big one but every dollar helps.
I'm very proud of the young man and all he's accomplished.

Congrats! And enjoy the ride. My son plays college football (NAIA level) and following his team is a blast. Lots of road miles and cuts into the fall hunting time a bit but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

His team had a disastrous last season, only won one game, so he went from being looked at by numerous big schools from Nebraska to BC, Princeton, all the big NC schools, AFA and Westpoint to dropping off the radar of most of them The bigger schools make their choices by mid season, and they hadn't yet won their one game at that time. He's hoping to get on the road squad right away, but they're talking of using him as a slot receiver since they have five QB's in their stable. He'd like to get a couple of years of playing time to gain exposure at the college level and then move to another school, so we'll just have to see what happens.

I'm sure he'll love Sydney. It's a great place. I would be nice if he stuck around, but hopefully he ends up wherever he wants. I'll be at W&L next year, so I'm sure I'll make it to a few games. I'll keep an eye out for him.
