Pretty tickled with my recent find. This is one of the better looking husqvarna rifles I've seen. 30-06, 24" barrel, all in a nice trim package that points like a shotgun. As far as i know it's a 1640 series (no idea on which model), made in 1953-54. It has the steel bottom metal. Weighs 7lbs, 2 oz. Only thing I'm iffy on is the checkered butt, like an English shotgun. Bore is like new, I imagine its alot more fun to carry than shoot.

I plan on bedding it and free floating the barrel and using it. Not much of a safe queen guy. I hope it shoots, the others I've dealt with did.

It has neat flip over weaver scooe mounts. Anyone ever used these? Do they return/stay on zero?

This is a recent import from Sweden. Looks like she's whacked a few moose, reindeer, or bear? 20200516_111033.jpg20200516_111119.jpg20200516_111305.jpg20200516_111623.jpg20200516_111638.jpg20200512_144840.jpg20200512_143810.jpg20200516_111605.jpg

I have two huskies. one in 06 and a 7mag. Something in the shape of the stock that seems to limit the recoil. Through the 60s to early 80s we used weaver mounts but not the flip off kind. Never had a problem.

Good find. My gunsmith has one for sale at $570 that has tempted me but with my collection I can't justify the expense. I really like them.

Disappointed by the title. Nice rifle though...

I could have gotten one in .358 Norma Mag with the Schmidt & Bender on a few years ago. I wish I had jumped on it.

They didn't keep anybody. mtmuley
They captured lots of slaves and traded them, one of the largest parts of their economy in the 6th through 11th centuries.....only kept the best (usually Franks, Anglo-Saxons and Celts....along with some Slavs). Trade in European slaves ended in 1335.

That is very nice. Congratulations

I had one like it----- only different. It was a M38, 6.5 x 55, mannlicher stock, but--built by Husqvarna, so the same, but different (-:

You picked up a nice rifle, congratulations, you will enjoy it !

SFC B You are very well versed in how the Swedes and/or Vikings created via selective breeding the "Swedish Bikini Team" (-:

Nice find. I’d also go with a red butt pad. I wouldnt use the mounts.

Nice rifle! I bet it will be a great shooter, I like the checkered butt and personally wouldn't think of sawing it off and adding a pad. I have a soft spot for the Husqvarna guns and have a 640 in 9,3x62 that I really love.
