NV Bull Elk Units 111-115 FCFS tag

While sipping my coffee this morning I was staring at the NV FCFS screen when an antlered bull elk rifle tag for units 111-115 popped up and I actually was able to get it!

This will be my first ever elk hunt, and first time hunting that area, opening day is November 5th!

I am thinking it may be worth hiring a guide for if I can find a good one that is not already booked, if anyone has recommendations that would be great.

Or of anyone has done this hunt before and is willing to PM me that would be appreciated as well, I have experience hunting deer and antelope in other parts of NV so I may able able to trade some advice.

That’s an unreal pickup. Congrats! I apply for the units but have never stepped foot in them. Big country but big glass will offset that. I would say find lookouts in the unit and cover ground until you find a good one.

Yeah if this is your first ever elk hunt you will want a guide in there.

If you opt for DIY, find the nastiest steep canyons you can. There will be big bulls killed on that hunt
