Poor Caitlin

We’re watching a lot of timberwolves basketball at home right now. The last few years they’ve been very fun, mostly in the playoffs.
As someone who grew up with the timberwolves as the local team, I’ve never really caught interest. But now with Anthony Edwards the future looks bright. I’ll alert you guys now, but take heed, this guy has the stuff and it’s not difficult to see. 23 year old plays like a 35 year old vet. Still a young man with lots of off the court growth left, but fun as hell to watch. Also, they’ve got tons of great role players and a couple other stars as well. They play hard defense and make the other team earn baskets. I can appreciate that style of game.

I think everyone knows you can find articles that say all kinds of random thoughts about any play in sports. ;)

Caitlin was interviewed and said she fouled on purpose, and it was a basketball play. Angel Reese was interviewed and said it was a basketball play. Seems like agreement on what happened.

You don't have to like the most dynamic player in the WNBA, but Caitlin is it. Barring injuries, the Fever will win the championship and Caitlin will win the MVP. The players they added make them much better and all of the players are better this year.

I find the Fever very fun to watch. Other WNBA teams, not so much. My guess is other teams will copy the model, so all games will be more interesting to watch.

I don't dislike Angel, and I can understand why some think she is so good. She's close to a carbon copy of many of the MVPs of the WNBA of the past. If you like the WNBA of the past, I understand why you'd like her.

Agreed.

Both are great players and they bring a lot to the game, including me. Reese is a beast at hunting down rebounds in particular. They are the only 2 players that interest me.
Reese misses her shots and then gets her own rebound. I heard last hear a number that was a significant amount of her total rebounds being from her own misses.

I think the rivalry is great. Clark/Reese made everyone take note in college and its continued to the WNBA. They are friends, though the media wants to make it out the are not. Add in Van Lith and Buekers and the WNBA has some stats people want to watch. Tirasi never had what they all had.

Since my Celtics got trounced i think I'm rooting Knicks.
I LOVE seeing Walt Frazier on the side- line.

Definitely not looking ahead, but Woofs and Knicks would be a great series, if not for the storyline of the KAT/Julius trade alone.

Tried to correct it. Clark made the foul and Reese looks like the bad one. Funny the bias. mtmuley

So I watched the clip...Reese gets lazy and out of position so she fouls an opposing player for a rebound, then Clark hacks the ball when Reese goes for the layup after the non-call and Reese most definitely takes a dive, sounds like normal basketball and a good foul...Guess I'm missing what we're outraged about?

I agree with you. Happens thousands of time every season.

You guys watch the wnba?
In many cases they play a better brand of team ball than some NBA teams do. Sure the case with the Lynx. And it's rougher than most who don't watch think.

I thought the foul on Reese was a typical hard foul, don't let her score OK with the foul type of action. The fans behavior towards Reese is a totally different thing and I hope they find and ban them for life from attending games.

...like it or not Clark's the best thing that's happened to wimmen's hoops, pro and college. She and Reese's ongoing feud puts butts in the bleachers and subscribers on the channels. Clark's foul was textbook, even Reese says so.
I agree with everything you said there, and the rivalry is good for the sport, but some of the hate directed at Reese is getting really ugly. (And admittedly, she doesn't always do herself favors with her reactions). I enjoy watching both of them play. Clark's assist game is so damn good (not to mention the crazy shots) and Reese is a fantastic rebounder.

Loving watching the Wolves the last few years. I was a kid coming up playing basketball in MN when KG was drafted so good to see some resurgence.

Not outraged. Just find it interesting that Reese is on the receiving end of the foul and still receives negativity from some sports reporters and Fever fans specifically. The WNBA is investigating some of what was done by fans at that game. mtmuley

Again, not disputing the foul itself. The behavior of some towards Reese is surprising. mtmuley

My posit has more to do with the thread title...

Caitlin Clark on the alleged hateful comments during Saturday’s game:

“There’s no place for that in our game, there’s no place for that in society. We want every person that comes into our arena, whether player, whether fan, to have a great experience.”
