Been applying for 15 years. OIL tags in WA are 0.1% or 0.01%. I know people who've drawn multiple while I'm still rocking a goose egg.
I was painting a rosier picture than reality.

WA is down to 7 total Mountain Goats tags statewide. With 14 bonus points (I must have missed a year), my odds at a tag are ~5/100,000 (true odds require more effort but aren't appreciably different).

The first time it wasn't OIL, was OIL if successful. The second time it was a pure OIL tag.

I wasn’t the only one who got suckered into burning points on 652. 😂. Cool place to but a major letdown for quality. Too many tags. I also drew in 2018.
I can’t remember if it was 2018 but I found out it was the year after they caught the guys from Washington that had killed like 56 bucks out of the unit. I shot a busted up ugly deer it was a let down

Sorry, voted 0 and I cannot un-score it. 0 attempts excluding conservation org raffles. Otherwise I’m any tag is a good tag applicant.

Just looked, the lowest draw odds I’ve ever beaten were 22% and it was the first and only year I ever tried for that tag. Doing amazing…

My anecdotal observation is about a tag every 10-15 years...I have 4 good buddies I hunt with. We've pulled maybe 6 tags across 4 guys over 10 years of applying every year across a few states for a lot of tough tags.
IMHO that is way too high, you have bucked the odds I’ve seen too many people on the other end of it.
