So which siding is best? Kids in Kansas are redoing their siding.Vinyl? Sorry Dave. Hard no. mtmuley
In my opinion it’s hard to beat a good boxed steel siding like Edco for durability and low maintenance. I have LP Smartside on my house because I like to look of it.So which siding is best? Kids in Kansas are redoing their siding.
There's a reason there is a large overlap between house painters and alcoholics. It's the worst but I have had good success with Sherwin-Williams when I've had to paint.
I prefer Hirshfields Reserve, personally, but I’m not sure it’s available outside the Midwest, unfortunately.OK, but how does the SW taste?
Most is 8 foot with some higher spots in the front. Got tons of ladders and will just suffer through it.how high is the outside trim? Do you have ladders to get that high? Renting a lift for half a day may speed up the process and be safer.
Funny you mention this. I would typically do as @Nuts did and just pay a professional. But I'm going to alaska in May for a black bear hunt plus a out of state turkey hunt the month before that. So funds are a bit light for hired labor. Fortunately I grew up with a father that never paid for anyone else to work on any of our stuff. So I know how to work hard and be handy I just try to avoid it at all cost (except missing out on hunting). You’ve started multiple Alaska DIY threads this month. Let’s not kid ourselves.![]()
Diamond Kote pre-finished. Make good cuts and do a round of color match caulking. Very nice product to work with.So which siding is best? Kids in Kansas are redoing their siding.
Yeah my wife is always painting something so she always knows when it’s on sale.Just called my local Sherwin Williams store and confirmed you are correct. Hard to pass on that deal so probably the way we will go.
I bought a Graco to paint our house. I will look to see what model it is. It is not the low end but its not the high end. They do a good job rating them for the amount of paint you are going to run through them. After I was done with it I donated it to my work. We continue to use it to spray all sorts of stuff. Most is 8 foot with some higher spots in the front. Got tons of ladders and will just suffer through it.

Think I might spring for the sprayer though. Any thoughts on Graco brand or others I should look at?
TerribleOK, but how does the SW taste?
