I'm still figuring out all the joys of being a homeowner. When we got the place the paint looked pretty good and I guess in my mind paint last forever right? Well several years and kids later and apparently I was wrong. So the wife has decided the whole house needs new paint inside and out (outside is brick so just trim there). We're gonna start in the kitchen as it's in the most need. We've decided to do it ourselves because it's painting how hard could it be 🙄. My question for the hunt talk brain trust is what brand paint do you recommend? I feel like I've heard good things about Behr. I guess I've never cared one way or the other to pay attention on paint. It was never my money being spent or going on/in my house before though.

Sherman williams for the outside. Duration, almost $100/gallon. It has lasted a decade without issue, single application rolled on myself. Touch ups still match. We live in the woods and have full seasons. Worth every penny.

For the inside we have used behr, my wife likes the lentil color. Its nice and works, much cheaper.

Totally agree duration exterior, Behr for the interior. Behr is a great paint especially for the money. Also, I absolutely hate painting.

Third on Duration for exterior. They have 30% off sales almost constantly, so plan ahead a little bit - you'd hate to pay full price because you waited til the day before and already did all your prep and there just happens to not be a sale.

Behr has been what we typically use for interior.

It's a solid 2nd to having someone else do it.

If you are dead set on being this angry at each other then be sure to have quality rollers and brushes and do the cleanup properly. It makes the anger flow easier the next day.

Sherman Williams is what we use, my cousin and my brother in laws dad are painter contractors so get their discount prices.

Beware though that the same name paint at Lowe's is not the same quality as going to the actual paint store.

Also, I painted the entire inside of our house. It was a new build, so it was a little bit different, but be ready for it to take more paint than you think it needs.
