I don't know what's going on but we barely got above 0 today. I'm not used to this. You Tanny's and Easterner's have some hard bark. Except for chores I didn't get to far from the Blaze King today

This was taken about 5 miles from my house at the Tizer Gardens. Definitely out of the ordinary, and was the first time in three years that I invited my chickens inside for the evening.

I wonder, do temperatures that cold, combined with 2 feet of snow, kill elk and deer? I'm glad you are surviving Oretana.

Just got to Oregon today, on the way to visit family. Was -30 with -45 wind chill when we left home. Now it's 36 in Salem....first time we've seen temps above freezing in three weeks! Can finally ditch the Pac boots and wool underwear for the rest of the trip.

If you get homesick come over to the east side. Looks like this cold snap is breaking, highs in the low teens the rest of the week but lots more snow. Could be a tough winter on wildlife for us.
On the west side watch out for the freezing rain.

I live in the southern Nevada desert not far from Vegas and the low last night was 12 degrees. That's darn cold for us.

-8 real feel yesterday morning here...so I decide to spend some foolhardy range time to 'test' some RE25 recipes. Powder did fine....toes and fingers not so much.

Nemont, no way a duck tastes that good.;)
