On the hunt

Almost is the name of the game….
73 yards on a nice buck, zipped it right over the back. Held a touch to high with my 70….. been awhile since I missed with my bow, I was already planning the pack out…. Choked - Even made my stalk through basically the creek to stay low enough, soaked my boots, which made the rest of the day kind of a bust.

I went and posted up where I had seen a herd of an antelope go for the last three days straight. Of course the day I decide to go sit there they don’t wanna be there. You did however, make two stocks on this herd and the first one they were about 220 yards away than I had to back out and took a different angle and got two 105 yards. Then they decided to walk the opposite direction, they had no idea I was there at any moment. Got my truck and drove back to camp and someone had hit a dough on the road that I had seen the past two weeks crossing the road to go to the creek to have a drink. Made me a bit sad, but I stopped and salvaged the meat. I was able to save both hindquarters and one front shoulder and both back straps and one inner tenderloin. So that poor Doe did not go to waste. I would have liked to see her have more fawns because she was only a yearling. It really pisses me off that I can drive 55 and manage not to hit that Doe for two weeks and then some jackass does not see her.
