New threat to 2nd A?

Documents reviewed by The AP revealed that the agents only had an administrative warrant — meaning there was no judge who authorized the raid on private property.

Wasn’t the fear during the Obama administration that ATF was going to kick in doors?

This precedent should horrify folks. There is absolutely no reason for law enforcement to enter a home without a judicial warrant.

It simply amazes me to see cognitive rigidity in real time. We can thank the internet for that. Of course, it is also an early sign of dementia, so I know it doesn't end well. Good luck.

"Oh, so thank your lucky stars you've got protection
Walk the line and never mind the cost
And don't wonder who them lawmen was protectin'
When they nailed the Savior to the cross"

And my understanding is that all "sanctuary" jurisdictions also comply with judicial warrants issues for illegal immigrants. They do not comply with administrative detainers issued by DHS/ICE that are not signed by a judge.
The system could be much better but I err on the 4th amendment.

And the recently published "worst of the worst" lists of people ICE arrested in MN had the majority of them handed over directly from state Department of Corrections to ICE. They were not picked up roaming the streets.

Agreed. This is just blatant violation of the constitution. One thing I can say for this administration and the other branches of the Federal Govt right now, is that they are putting on a master class in why checks and balances are so vital. I mean, if the Justice Dept. is going to do whatever you say, no matter what and Congress isn't going to stand up you either, there's not much you can't get away with.

The Law: "Release all the Epstein Files."
The folks ultimately responsible for enforcing the law: "No."

The Law: "You need a judicial warrant to enter a home without permission."
The folks ultimately responsible for enforcing the law: "Nope."

Americans: "Well, shit."

Impossible! That's not what my X feed says! Those liberal traitors would never incarcerate, let alone willingly hand over criminals!

Minnesota law requires DOC to notify ICE when a person committed to DOC custody is not a U.S. citizen. DOC also honors all ICE detainers and coordinates transfers when ICE requests pickup.
...

DHS claims several offenders were recently detained as part of Operation Metro Surge after being released from prison by Gov. Tim Walz.

Schnell said that’s simply not true.

Earlier this week, his office released the exact dates that inmates with ICE detainers were released to ICE custody.

When ICE continued to claim they were picking up violent criminals off the streets after they were released from prison, Schnell released video evidence of inmates being literally handed off to ICE agents.

Schnell described it as a routine process, required by state law, that "occurs in every single case involving ICE detainers."

"It is disturbing that DHS continues to issue inaccurate statements that erode public trust. We will not allow misinformation to go unchecked—especially when it threatens the integrity of public safety agencies and undermines transparency," Schnell said in a statement.

This is it right here. What it all comes down to. If we accept that our government, of the People, for the People, by the People, no longer has to follow the Constitution, then we can kiss the America that our founders created and which has made for such an incredible place to live goodbye.

No matter where you land on the political spectrum, upholding the Constitution should be a no brainer if you love America and want to see it survive.

Just FYI if you only watch news from 1 source, ICE is not driving around and targeting criminals. They have been going door to door looking for brown people and arresting them if they don't have "papers" I have 2 family members who are volunteering to pick up people at the Whipple building and take them home after they are released hours or days later. Their crime, being brown. Alot of the people who some think are protesting, are just there to document what is going on because 30% of the USA population doesn't believe this is actually happening.
It's unbelievable our this administration has taken us to this. :(

They wait outside the elementary school my sister teaches at to arrest parents picking up their kids. Real moral and ethical stuff.

i'm confused - are you saying that this masked man(?) holding a pistol is the same person as this unmasked man holding a phone? wearing different hats, jackets, and pants to boot?

is that what you're actually saying?

I have long been under the belief that we are all getting two different copies of the newspaper…. Like when they have two different teams “won the Super Bowl” ready the night before, except one copy isn’t being thrown away…

Can everyone just imagine for a moment..
if they only showed us small clips of the Super Bowl and nobody could really watch the whole Super Bowl, and then the next morning half the people got told one team won and the other half were told it was the opposing team? Sounds awful similar but maybe it’s just me…..

Earlier this morning, before he headed to Iowa, Trump spoke with the press. Of course, he was asked whether Noem was leaving the administration.

He said she would not be stepping down. Recognizing that you can't say yes, until pondering a dicey situation, I just do not see how she survives politically. She has shown she a bald faced liar, and a very slow learner. After smearing Renee Good, before all of the videos emerged, she did the exact same thing with Alex Pretti.

The second killing was so over the top, few on the right, want to defend it, at all. Nothing Noem ever says, going forward, will have any creditability. She will make future political gaffes.

I think she will be gone inside a month.

Welcome to the world drive by algorithms. In a binary world, which the digital world is, everything gets boiled to an us/them, either/or, good/bad, friend/enemy context.

I purposely eff with the algorithm. I will do a Google search for something written by Obama. Later that day I will do a search for something written by Reagan. I purposely subscribe to both the NYT and the WSJ. I will click on stuff that is clearly out of my world view, just so the algorithm has to wonder what I really want to read.

I want the algorithm to think I'm a card carrying member of "Gay Gun Toting Hippie Loggers for Jesus and the Bible." Obviously, I made that up, but if people want to be lazy and get spoonfed what the algorithm serves you, expect a meal of hyper-partisan binary shit sandwiches.

This thread is a perfect example. Just look at many of the link and memes. Some of them come from a source with journalistic integrity and the rest of them are from the Chinese/Russian click bait farms. Yet, people will share that shit as if it is valid.

I will pay for my news. If Rupert Murdoch's WSJ has the same common facts as the left-of-center NYT, I've got a pretty good comfort level for the facts. I'm old enough to be able to sort the biases of each publication and the reporters providing such, allowing me to make my own decisions.

If the information we use to form our world view is driven by the binary algorithm, it is a logical outcome that we will end up as two highly divided groups, thinking the other is the enemy. That's how algorithmic content works.

F%# THE ALGORITHM!

Big pop on polymarket a couple hours ago. Much like the Venezuela attack, some insider trades on betting markets should give us a heads up.

What crazy times. Oh how the tables have turned. Does this mean the Dems in blue states like Minn are finally going to acknowledge the second amendment to the Constitution after trying to destroy it for the last few decades?
Hogwash.

It was democrats that killed more gun control legislation in MN a few sessions ago...at a time when they had majority control of the house and senate and had Walz as governor!

EXACTLY.

Here's some more reality that is far different than what ICE/DHS is saying...
