As title states, the gen2 with the new dial like the new VX6's that have already been out are starting to trickle in. The old gen1 are going to be a LOT less at this time if you are happy with the current gen1 CDS dial. The Gen1 supply is not going to last long so shoot me a message if looking for either.

Hard to be either one at the prices you have them for. I got a GEN2 in advance and it is a great scope. A bit more travel for those who shoot longer distances than I do. My two favorite items are the new speedset dials and the throw level on the magnification selector.

If you are interested in either one, you will be hard pressed to find better prices and service than @schmalts.

So from what I can see the difference between gen 1 and gen 2 is a throw lever, can reset elevation dial without an Allen wrench, and an extra 5moa? Is there anything else I’m missing?
Not that i can see. All scope lines need a refresh every couple years and these upgrades are welcome.

Yup, those are the obvious outer changes. The internal adjustments/components that provide the additional elevation travel allow increased precision and were borrowed from the Mark5HD.

I glanced at a 3-15x56 for an upcoming build but I did not see a reticle with MOA hashes on the horizontal crosswire for windage adjustment?

I picked up a Gen 1 for the price of a discounted VX3HD just a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely slamming deal. Going on a new Weatherby 280Ai build. Went with the VX5hd 3-15 windplex.

Well a few years ago I was able to upgrade to Leupold I now have three two VX5HD's and one VX6HD all first gen. I've been hunting for years and I definitely remember those days and all I can say is THANK YOU LORD. I guess I could spend more but I afraid at my age it would be a waste. Thanks Leupold. Oh bought some BX5's a few years ago had to take them back they were too hard to get in and out of the case. Make your cases bigger.

I also picked up one of Schmalt’s Gen 1 VX-5HDs. I’ve yet to shoot it, but the glass is certainly nice. Great price!
