Made the trip down to Nevada to hunt with my brother who lives down there. He drew a unit that I chukar hunted quite a bit when I was in college down there, but haven't been to in 15 years. We only had 5 days to hunt since he also drew an elk tag in Nevada, and he is having to save all the vacation that he can for that hunt. He also ran into the problem of breaking his ankle into a million pieces in July. All this being said, he wasn't going to be real picky on what he shot. We got down there a couple days early and did some scouting. Found a few bucks, but nothing real good. Opening day found us into the last area the we wanted to check out before deciding what buck to go after. Shortly after noon, we spotted this buck bedded, and a short stalk later he was down. Not the biggest buck around, but with the circumstances we were very happy to take him.

He got back to work a few days early, so now he is able to take off his entire elk season if he needs to. Hopefully will be posting some pictures of a big Nevada bull in November.
