I thought I'd share some of this years outdoor adventures and highlights. My season started off like it always does, chasing black bears. After a long winter I was itching pretty good to get out and cure some cabin fever. Well, this year it happend quick for me and was able to take this boar on a cold and snowy spring evening.

Upon news of my wife being pregnant and a due date hitting smack dab in the middle of the elk rut, I was on a mission to do all of the work prior to the season opening. My goal was to find elk, figure them out and punch my tag onpening weekend. I set up a few trail cameras to aid in this effort. This was my first time using trail cameras and I have to say, it was awesome. I got a lot of pictures on my cameras but there was one that kept me up at night, he was dubbed the nickname BigBoy and he was my #1 target.

BigBoy was known well at our house and my boys (4yrs & 5yrs) desperately wanted have BigBoy live with us! So did I!!
Opening week of archery season came and went without a chance at BigBoy, but a 90 yd encounter is burned into my memory.
Mid September we were blessed with the birth of a healthy baby girl, Moxie. The first girl is a big clan of men...our house was immediately infultrated with pink, pretty cool stuff.

After squeezing in a couple more archery elk hunts, I closed out the archery season with all tags intact, but it was still a great season.
November came quickly and thoughts of chasing high country mule deer had been consuming. Its been a few years of hunting these deer and I finally feel that all of the pieces of come together. We went up the second week of Nov. and had an awesome hunt. Here's a couple pictures of my buddy's buck. (he owes me!)

Alway's fun seeing these while out hunting! My buck died 50 yrds from this set of tracks...little nerve racking!

The last hunt of the season was the best, no doubt. I had been trying to figure out a hunt to take my boys on and on the second to last day of the season it all came together, even got to take their cousin along with us. They officially have been bit by the hunting bug! It was a great hunt!

It was a great year, I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
