Everyone starts somewhere. Be proud of that first, of many to come in your future. My first was a spike with a little kicker to make it a 3. Ill never forget that day, as I have some of the hunts. This will stick with you the rest of your life. Enjoy and congratulations on the first one. We'll look forward to seeing many more in the future from you,

Every deer is something to be proud of.

You shot it with a .30-30, eh? Cool. I shot my first deer, a doe, with my grandfathers .30 Remington pump action Model 14, with open sights. Lots of deer have died from these old calibers like the .30-30, .32 Winchester, .30 Remington, and the likes.

I just went down to look at the rifle and see if I could find a date stamp on it. I know they were made from 1914 to 1934. My dad told me his father bought it when he got his first job on the railroad in 1928.

That rifle barrel is shot out, where 100 yards is a long shot. Some day I would like to get the extractor fixed and shoot another deer with that. Something about those old rifles and old calibers is cool.

Hope you shoot many more, whether with a .30-30, or other caliber.

BBK,

That is the sweetest buck for a first. My first deer was a doe, my second deer was a spike, my third deer was a 2 point whitetail and my forth deer was a doe. You are right on tract to living up to your name. If you missed some big ones, you are right in the same club with the rest of us. Just practice more during the summer with your uncle.

Big Fin is right. Each and Every deer is something to be proud of. Great Job on a great buck. Congrats.

Great deer, i shot my first with the 30-30 as well. No worries about the antlers, you will remember that hunt forever.

BBK, you should read your signature line. and remember what it says always.

great first buck. memories last forever. or until the age of 60.....

Congratulations on your first buck. Looks like you have had a great season. As long as it is a legal and ethical kill, you should always be proud of all the animals you harvest.
My first rifle at the age of ten, was a 35 lever action. I carried that gun for years and handed it down to my son. He killed his first buck with it.
Congrats again !

Never be ashamed of an animal you've harvested. You made a conscious decision to kill the animal and that is exactly what happened. Be proud of your accomplishment and be thankful that you were able to enjoy such a great experience. Congrat's and may there be many more bucks harvested in your future.

I agree with eveyone else, that is a great buck! Just shooting a deer with a 30-30 is quite an accomplishment.

Hey, that looks like my first (and so far only) deer I shot last year! Shot him with my Mosin Nagant M44 and handloads. Great job!

Emrah

If you pull the trigger, you gotta be proud. No one makes you pull the trigger.

It is your choice at the moment of truth. Be happy.

Got to start somewhere & that will put some good eating in the freezer. I shoot all my game now with lever actions. I started with a 30-30, then used everything else & still have them, but went back to the old days & my levers. Congrats & be proud to be a hunter. It's an American tradition you can be proud of.

.30-.30..... so cool. I grew up hunting whitetails in Pennsylvania with a .30-.30. I killed plenty of whitetails and plenty of trees. (LOL). Congrats on that deer.

good luck to all
