Great story - this paragraph rang true for me this season....'I knew from experience that you don't want to wait for a bull to take a step in this situation, as his next step was going to be a lightening fast escape. I put the crosshairs on the base of his neck and squeezed.'

Every season, I think an elk hunter learns what to do, and what not do. I had the crosshairs on the neck, but I waited and he escaped.
