I was out doing a little hiking/scouting yesterday and found a nice bachelor group of five whitetails. I know it probably depends on how much more moisture we get this summer, but can anyone ballpark what percentage of a deer's antlers have already been grown? There were three nice 8 pointers in the group two of which were just outside the ears already. If they'd score about 110 right now, what do you think they would end up scoring this fall?

I think it's a lot different in different parts of the state. There's a buck around my place that scored right around 150 last year, and he's still got a long ways to go this year. His beams are almost all the way there, but his tine lengths still just starting.

I think you can kind of tell how far along they are though just by how they look. If they look out of proportion with really short times and stubby beams, then they still have some growing to do. If they look pretty proportional throughout, they're probably almost done growing.
