Leupold BX-4 Rangefinding Binoculars

Mountain Goats??

Another piece of gear that is worthwhile (atleast for me) are crampons. You can get some cheap instep crampons and they are relatively small. They work wonders for wet grass or loose shale on steep slopes. There not just for ice.

Mule:

Like Eric said, those big billies are kinda
a yellowish color. You'll be able to compare
by looking thru the spotting scope what a
big guy looks like. They will be bigger then
the nannies. A couple good scout trips and
you'll have an idea whats would be a trophy
for you. Your season is early enough so you
probally won't get snowed out. This will allow you to look at several billies. In Washington, they are VERY conservative in
tag allotments. Its in the 3% range, so you
see a ton of goats. I'm sure you'll see plenty.

Owl,

Knowing my luck it will be hotter than hell all summer and then one day before the season starts a freak snowstorm will dump 2 foot of snow on Mt. Princeton. hahahahahahah

Thanks for all the advice and info folks it is appreciated.
