Morel mushrooms today

I found my first few morels of the season today here in southern Ohio. I only found 5 total. I wasn't really expecting to find any since I was basically just checking a few of my earlier producing sites. I usually don't find the first substantial batch until around April 7-8th, but things are greening up early around here this year.

Very nice! We've got another month here, I'd say. Just got hit with 12" of snow Wednesday.

Saw quite a few scarlet cups yesterday but no morels. I was hunting about 60 miles north of you dcopas78. Hoping next weekend will be shroom heaven. On a side note, my father in law dug about a bushel of ramps. Mmmm, beer batterd mushrooms, sautéed ramps, fried eggs and bacon.

Still a little cool here for morels, finding reds ok but need moisture and some more warmer temp and that should make them pop. We have had both just not together. This week looks promising.

I sure miss CA's shrooming.
Chantrells,Morels,Oysters,etc ....in my yard.
I have seen a few Bollettes here in NM,but always a day late.
