New guy here, although I met several of you on the spring Montana bear hunt. I'm from southern California but came to Montana 14 years ago to study grizzlies, and to hunt of course. Nice to meet you all, and thanks for being such great advocates for wild public land.

Hi Grant, good to see you around here and good to meet you on the bear hunt. Looking forward to seeing some of your pics and stories from your hunts.

Welcome! I will say I'm quite jealous. You made the move that I can't convince me wife to make...

Thanks for the welcomes. I knew when I was a little kid that I wanted to live in Montana - and had to make it happen. Jobs are tough but persistence pays off - kinda like hunting. Ben, I spent 2 years working in the Scapegoat - if it's not hunting season and you aren't fishing the North Fork, there is no one back there. Scapegoat Mountain could be my favorite spot in the Bob.

You make yourself sound like an invasive species. LOL

Welcome from another "outsider" who finagled his way into the West. Look forward to pics and stories from the Bob. I am a big wilderness fan and love be where people are not :)

Even during hunting season, you can find some solace. ;)

That's a nice pic, JLS. I've been up to the top twice, via a goat trail up the Green Fork. Last time I was there I saw a Grizzly and cub about 80 yards below me - I was on the summit.

Welcome, and nice meeting you in May as well. Looking forward to pics & stories from you.

Here's a couple more. The first is looking up the head end of Cabin Creek towards the Scapegoat Plateau. The second was taken at the pass between Cabin Creek an Dobrota Creek.

I've been up the Green Fork trail and up onto the plateau, but I didn't go east to the summit. I saw three griz up there that trip also, mom and two cubs.

Welcome aboard. I I am glad you and Land were able to make it to the bear hunt.

JLS - have you had much luck back there? I know upper Lost Cabin Creek has a lot of Griz in the early fall. I'd love to hunt there, but without horses, it'll probably never happen.
