Actually this bird was far from gobbling. He was playing Mr. Sneaky instead.Long day of wind, snow, and moments of stable conditions.I hunted for 8 hrs. and nine miles before connecting with the one bird I came across. So much for Merriams being easy, would have loved one of those backyard eastern turkeys yesterday.:D Anyway, the morning was a bust, the birds were all clammed up with wind and a low pressure storm.Took a break at the "rig"mid-morning, and kept going until I scored at 4 p.m.Think I'll save my second tag for the end of the season.

Congrats, Nate. Never good news for the birds when you head out with a tag in your hand.

Nice bird. Are you sure that "truck" isnt you ground blind?

Put some floorboards in and shes' good as new.People sure were short back then, I'm just under six feet and it was tight quarters.
