Montana bull...all of 1.5 hours.

Nope, all public land and its very low density elk area...and always has been.

We've maybe shot 50 or so elk in there since the 1950's.
Not to spot burn, but have you considered the Norris Road state section? If I remember right, Greenhorn even shared a killer glassing knob on that “mountain”.

I have probably commented 10-12 of the most heartfelt, sincerest congratulations to random members of the forum in the last week or two.
Of whom I interact with very little, if at all… their grit and tenacity to work hard at something and not bitch and complain is a story I’ll read over and again. Those stories i love so much and i joined this forum for them.

Seeing this and a story like yours above, combined with your crappy attitude toward the opportunity you obviously take advantage of to kill more elk than 2 families lifetimes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Makes me sick.
Maybe your bullshit legislature should have listened when I testified against the Montana native licenses that I get to buy OTC every year for the price of peanuts.

Told them guys like me where going to be taking advantage.

Speaking of which, I suggest you contact your representatives and whine to them, crybaby.

If your trollery inspires more people to do that - awesome 😁

Have a good day, buzz. Hope you enjoyed it.

Congrats on another nice bull. Why do you have to brag, boost and gasconade about every elk you kill? Everyone knows you're an experienced elk magnet and an amazing hunter. It would be nice, for once, if you shared some of your hunting strategy and tactics to the less experienced elk hunters on this forum... not just photos and numbers.

I'll share what I've picked up from reading Buzz's posts.
1. Get out. Don't make excuses. Don't put it off until next week when the weather is better. Don't wait until it's more convenient; just get out as often as possible.
2. Hunt areas with high likelihood of success, either because there are lots of animals, few other hunters, or you know the area really well. It can be a combination of the three.
3. Earn some gd karma by being an active conservationist, even when it's inconvenient.

Gasconade “extravagant boasting; boastful talk” comes straight from French gasconnade “bragging, boasting, a boastful story,” from the noun Gascon, denoting an inhabitant of Gascony in southwest France.

Got to admit...never heard it myself and I've got 60+ years of rants under my belt! 🤷‍♂️
