Opinions wanted from experienced bear hunters! Would you hunt big belts or little belts for bear. I'm going to be camped between both of them. Would anyone be willing to offer honest opinion? Thank you

If you hunt the north end of the Little Belts I can guarantee you'll spend more time looking for an open area like a meadow more than you'll be looking for a bear. Basically if you can find a good open meadow at around 6000' you'll find a bear.

Lots of bears in the little belts. Just kind of a tough spot to find lots of glassing opportunities.

Really sums it up. A quick look at Google Earth will show you the best spots to focus on.

Couple years ago there was a little black bear lounging under a picnic table in the southern little belts. . Just scout the camps. :) Google earth might be your best friend. The open areas of re-planted trees from logging have grown out a bit since I first hunted there almost 20 years ago.
