Montana 2019 Spring Bear Season

[MT.PERCHMAN]

Well yesterday was very wet and the GPS said poor day hunting ..
It was super slow till about 6:55 or so . Then seen a Nice size Sow with two Cubs! So cool to watch . We were in the truck headed to a clear cut to glass going slow and talking to each other when my wife spotted a black spot up ahead in the trail .
We had seen three small piles of Scat and said to each other ,well there is a small one here where is big grandpa !!
Anyway we watched for maybe 3 to 4 min.as they walked right to us . She must have got nervous and told the Cubs to head out ! Then she stood up on the back legs and give a few sniffs in the wind and she was headed out !! Amazing to watch Nature!
We went down to the clear cut and with in min. seen a small black one just eating away ! We watched till almost dark .
What a great day it was !!
Headed out today to try again .

Double downed tonight.... was fortunate enough to accompany too of my best friends take to great bears. It was a night that i'll never forget, an experience that we all live for that only comes around every once in a blue moon. That'll probably put a wrap on my season this season can't go out on much of a higher note then that. Totally awesome experience.

Pics please! Sounds awesome. I’m heading out in two days to the far west part of the state for a four day bear camp with three friends. Can’t wait.

Planning on heading out Thursday. Unit 520 hit the quota yesterday, so I'll probably head west with my 4 days off.

All the highs and lows this Spring were the best times !
213 yards and one shot ! The new rifle build
Is broke in !
It's not the biggest bear but I'm happy !
200 pd. and a white patch on the chest !
I cant seen to get a picture to load. I will get some help ..

Yes !!
I feel that a ton has been lifted off of me ! We have been so close and then so far . But we didnt give up ! We still have a few trips left for the Wife to connect.
Although she heard the Fish&Game Officer tell me they would gain a extra 100 pounds in the fall . She was just Smiling !!

Well yesterday came home to fresh Bear Sloppy Joe's! I cut the Bear up and the wife ground up the burger . What a great feeling to finnish the circle of the hunt !!
Ps. It was Amazing !!

I’m starting to see bears show up in the high country that I like. I’m at 7 the last two nights....the problem is it’s been 2 sows with 2 cubs each. One really nice boar that cruised through and never offered a shot.

Just got back from bear camp. I had already tagged out, one friend got a decent boar and my brother had to pass on a sow with cubs. What was especially fun was that I rented out a forest service fire lookout tower to base the camp out of. Talk about killer views!

Well, so far the only bear I've seen was a nice jet black bear browsing his way across a SW facing park. By the time I got over and set up he was gone. That was kind of in a break in the rain. Seems like every time I step outside here lately I get soaked.

This weekend I got out twice. I saw plenty of deer and elk, but no bruins.
