Thanks to Mr Lamb for articulating the attributes of Bill Jordan's S&W Model 19 design...

Old Faithful, the first pistol I owned, my wife got it for me as a welcome home present from my first deployment. I know I should have something simple, like a glock, in the bedside stand, but I just can't help myself.

The K Frame Smith & Wesson is perhaps the finest example of a defensive revolver. Balance, grace of lines and adequate cartridge all wrapped up in blued steel & walnut grips. Not too heavy and not so light it'll fly out of your hand.

Yes please.

Now put a new mainspring & 12 lb recoil spring in it.

This is the only pistol I own at the moment. Sold the rest last year when the gun grabbing started and the market spiked.

I bought it a few years ago when PA opened an Archery bear season. It's a Taurus of unknown vintage, 6" barrel, .357 mag. I was looking for a .44, but couldn't pass this for $250.

The Model 19 is a solid gun. My Border Patrol class was the first to be issued the Model 19 in brand new condition. The Border Patrol was famous for issuing reconditioned piece of crap Rugers etc. Mine was so good that a range officer once accused me of doing a trigger job on it. I had a hard time convincing him that it was just that good.

After carrying that gun for a number of years and then carrying my own Colt King Cobra for awhile, we went to autos which changed a lot of things. .

My pair of Rugers. They're boring, but should have me covered on anything a handgun ever needs to do.

Security six? I like Ruger revolvors. Tougher than a tank & can handle anything to put through them.

Nice! A spring kit in that Security Six will smooth the trigger out nicely if it's a little stiff.

missed out on this Monday, so, . . . . I know we have a lot of Lonsome Dove fans on here. . .Augustus would be proud! Checks in at a little over 4lbs. . .

I've got the Uberti version of the Walker that's in dire need of an internal make over. Super fun gun to shoot. .457 caliber ball with 60 grains of FFF Black Powder gets everyone's attention.

Lovely pistol.
