Missing CO Hunters

Prayers out for these boys and their families.

Anyone talk to bigfoot about this?

Seriously???? Big 🦶??? Those boys are lost at best...something happend and I don't think it's a 5 day pack out with a Bull.

What about phone pings? Is there service in that area or anything the phone company’s can do ? Hope they are found.

I've used that in my previous career.

I'm certain the Sheriff's Office has done that. (Presumably, I don't have that fact specifically for this case).

Takes about 15 minutes to get it set up in an emergency.

I don't have Facebook, but if you follow the OPs first Facebook link you can read a lot of what people are doing. They are working with onX and some other big names. They have dogs, S&R, thermal drones, horseback volunteers and more. It kind of choked me up reading the outpouring of help and support going into the search.

I'll repost this link so it's on this current page.

I hope they are just hunting with a broken in-reach and the gear at the car is extra stuff, but Lighting is definitely my best guess.

I hope they are found safe. It very much feels like an odd scenario with their stuff still at the truck and the last ping was at the truck. I hope their wasn't any fool play involved.

Kinda piecing together the coordinates and it looks like they parked at the mouth of a canyon. If they hiked to top it looks like a flat alpine tundra, the last place I would want to be in a lightning storm. They might have dropped down to timber that wasn’t in the direction of their truck.

Can someone with knowledge of the area provide us with actual weather data of what rolled through the night they went missing and afterward? Just curious exactly what they were up against if it was weather related. Sounds highly likely.

My understanding is that almost all of the 14ers in the state got snow along with some elevations around 11k ft. Being that far south in the state I image it was more likely lightning, thunder, rain, hail. Fall is a bad time for surviving as people are still assuming decent weather and then get soaked, 75° before the storm and 40ish once wet is a bad deal. At least once it’s gets cold later in the fall people are more likely expecting a prepared. This whole summer feels off, like six weeks off from normal as we’re still getting stronger pm storms at a time of year that’s historically mild and clear.

I would like to know more about the gear in the truck. Is there anywhere that explains that?

Were their bows there?
Where were their daypacks?
Pack frames missing?
Did they typically carry handguns?
Was there a cooler?
Were either of these guys known for taking any form of drugs or medications?
Were their hunting boots in the truck?
Was the truck locked?
Were the keys hidden in the “typical” hiding spot?
How much food was in the truck?
How much water?
Any blood on any knives?

There are so many details missing that I have not seen that would potentially help provide some context.

Ok, so they spiked out, then they went back to the vehicle, and then…

Thoughts and prayers to the hunters, their families, and their friends.
Yep, then left with just bows. Left packs in the vehicle. I'm curious what the pin between the car and camp was for.

I'm also concerned about foul play now. It has almost been a week. I figure they would've found something by now. That's a long time to be out there with just your bow.
