Midwest storms

The weather forecasters were in full “sky is falling” mode Thursday night. Friday afternoon into early evening brought tornadoes in Oklahoma, large hail along a wide swath into Kansas east of me, and pea size hail on Wichita. Not enough wind to shake off any more shingles off the roof.

The biggest damage from this cold front might be to winter wheat in the western half of the state. High 20’s for a low will nip the seedheads just coming on.

There is a lot id love to get done outside but with everything under water around here and the fact that its 40 degrees, sitting in a bar and drinking just sounded better. We have a few trees down from the winds that need cutting.
We’ve had a lot of trees in our woods tip over roots and all. It would be a lot worse if they were leaved out.

Weather guy said that there were 9 confirmed tornadoes in just one county south of me last night. We ended up with 1 7/8" of rain. River flooding again. Dry most of the week now.

We are continuing on a roller coaster of temperatures but the storms look to be out of the forecast. 25 for a low tomorrow and 83 for a high on Tuesday!

Yeah, pretty chilly out. Had to help my dad cover their rhubarb patch for the night. I'm not bothering with my asparagus. Need the warm weather to get back quick! Plenty to do outside. Those 9 tornadoes in McLean county? 3 of them were in Bloomington/Normal. 3 tornadoes in one night in one city.
