Midlife career opportunity! Enlist or reenlist.

49 years old. Can’t drive without glasses. Knee replacement… also too tall to have lived my dream of being an A10 pilot… multiple family members piloted planes and choppers for the military.

Taller than Chad Hennings?

Significantly, he’s only 6 feet tall. I was 6’6”. I checked now and they’re accepting 6’7” now, specifically for the A10. My vision is what was an instant kill though. Now you can get surgery and qualify.

Yes I can. I feel as though I missed my calling as a Sumo wrestler.

Two seats on an airplane would suck. My sister argued it should still cost her one seat… makes no sense to me. You’re paying for space, not the person.

An individual who joins, does 4 years and gets out is considered to be on "Inactive Reserve" for an additional 4 years. They are subject to recall during that time in the event of war. Military retiree's are subject to recall for their entire life and have to ensure that their contact info is up to date annually. I received "the phone call" on the anniversary of my retirement asking if all of my contact info was current. It was during that phone call that I learned I was subject to recall indefinitely. I was polite when I told the gentleman who had called that I was rated at 90% by the VA and if they wanted to give me a shot at 100% then give me a call. In addition, if they thought I had a bad attitude when I was active, give me a call and find out how bad it could get. LOL!!
