Map and Compass Question

I watched a Backcountry College video in YouTube about navigation using a map and compass. It made sense to me but I have a question about declination. A map I have said the declination changes approximately 00* 07' West per year. My question is, if it changes a certain amount per year the same direction, wouldn't magnetic north eventually become magnetic south over time?

Another good source.the movement is caused by the movement of plates and the flow of deposits beneath the surface, so it is not cyclical.

Actually the earth's magnetic field has reversed many times, but it's never a slow creep, it just flips and positive becomes negative or vice versa. I highly recommend watching some Minute Physics on youtube, they're extremely well done.

Its never constant in one direction. It's more of an oscilation, but even that is not constant in its motion. As mentioned before, plate techtonics is beleived to change it.
