Jackson Brothers meat locker in Post TX has the best beef jerky I've ever had, we stop in on the way to visit family but have ordered through MAIL as well. I'm talking sticks of 3/4" or more big old pieces of meat. Would love to see how big those peices start before dehydrating. Could also probably fill you're male sausage needs by special request.

I haven't had thier summer sausage, I have had their German sausage and thought it was just OK. The beef jerkey tho I mean damn man it's just hard to mess up dried beef. Serious beef jerky there. Nothing compares that you can find in a store.

We’ve a damn good jerky joint here that Ken Jr. and I hit before road trips. He likes the hot stuff. There’s a tame one called T Bone that I like. It’s ridiculously spendy but a tradition.

I used to think jerkey was really expensive until making my own a few times and seeing how much it shrinks. On average ~90% or more of the moisture is removed, that 1lb of jerkey starts at around 10 lbs.

Gotta scroll up on thier site to see the 1lb option at 28. Still expensive but a pound of jack links is over 20 now.

Good jerky is worth it imo. That jack links is about a glorified dog treat.
