I like to be different so I cut it 45 degrees off the grain. Im also a raw carnivore so I usually bury it in some pine needles and pee on it. Then I come back and eat it after Im done chewing the nose off of the deer.

My daughter just gave me a new dehydrator a couple days ago. My old one wouldn't make temp any more and it would take 8+ hours to dry jerky out. By then even my dogs don't like it. The flavor got dried completely out of it.

Which seasoning did you use?

I always use Hi Mountain.

I dehydrate then when I go to eat it I have been putting it in a Ziplock with a tablespoon of Teriyaki juice (sometimes soy sauce).

That's also a good trick if you got your jerky way too dry to get it to soften up a bit (which is how I discovered that trick to salvage some SUPER DRY jerky I accidentally made on year).
