Every once in a while, some folks need to stick their finger in a socket to remind themselves that electricity ain't seen, but it sure as #*^@#* can be felt.

For some reason - advocates for them but wont (cant) buy then.
Those two points are speculative at best. And most likely overly optimistic.
Based on what I have seen called a compromise in the past, I would rather just not negociate on this one.

No ad hominem attack from me. If I thought LO tags were beneficial to the DIY hunter and affordable, I would have multiple in my hands. I'm curious why you may or may not. If you don't, that doesn't make sense to me.

Struggling to see how my personal choice on this subject would impact anyone’s views on the program as a whole.

Hankelk is a rare exception which im proud of the way he does it. Most landowners are greedy for the money those tags can bring.

I'm similarly struggling to see why if you thought something was a smart economic choice, and benefitted the DIY hunter in general, you wouldn't take advantage of it. If you did, that's great.

I find it hard to fault @Treeshark for his view. Every state gladly screws NRs at every chance and the money/cost is slowly pushing out a lot of DIY hunters. He supports things that he thinks benefit him just like everyone else. The shark feels he can afford to pay the cost of a LO tag. If he can, I understand his view even more. He isn't alone in his view on LO tags, certainly from NRs, but most others aren't on this board. At the same time, it certainly distorts incentives and I can see why WY (and MT) hunters are against it. Looking at NM, the results show it isn't all bad. I hope it dies simply because everything in life shouldn't be about money. Once it is, we are all screwed.
Perhaps they do, perhaps I could never dream of affording such a thing- that’s not relevant to the discussion we are having. My hope is to point out how everyone benefits from these programs if structured appropriately (like NM and Colorado LO programs are).
Residents, non-residents, non-hunting residents and most importantly the resource all benefit. Again I am left to wonder, what’s the downside (practically speaking)?
