Just got back from my cow elk hunt. Finally got it done on our last day of hunting with no help from the weather. The snow was getting deeper everyday and was too deep to get to the higher country we like to hunt. We were stuck hunting the low country and we were able to get on the trail of a small herd and track them for a couple of miles before we found them.
The distance for the pack out was no fun in the snow and the afternoon getting later and later. About a mile down to a road and then 2 miles to where the truck was parked.DSCN0692.jpgDSCN0694.jpgDSCN0690.jpgDSCN0698.jpgDSCN0703.jpg

I've had that tag a couple times if you're where I think you are. It can be a cold MF which is better than muddy for getting around. There had to be some brutal drifts too.

Looks like you guys had a great time ! Nice to see fellow gray-beards tough it out in challenging conditions !!!
