Ollin Magnetic Digiscoping System

Knife Sharpener

Syderco V has worked for me for a long time. Since going to the scalpel mod'd tool I use the V to touch up the study blades and EDC.

I'll cast another vote for the Ken Onion worksharp.

Although the last couple years, I just send my knives into the manufacturer (spyderco and benchmade) and get back knives that are beyond sharp.

They last me through archery elk, antelope, elk, and deer seasons without needing to be touched again.

Friend got a KME system at a show in PA and I was always impressed with it.
He would hit all of our knives at base camp and after each elk (said like there have been a lot of them).

The KME system looks like a winner. Expensive, but it would last you a lifetime. Replacing stones when they wear out is simple too.

Get a couple more stones for your set-up with the Lansky. I have the Lansky system and love it! Yes it takes longer to get the first edges perfect if they have been sharpened on stones or haphazardly on the Work Sharp or other systems to get them both the same. Once that is done though, the next time you sharpen the blade or touch it up all you need is 5-10 minutes and it will be back to razor sharp.

Couple things I found to help a lot is to get the C-clamp to hold the knife. It sure makes it a lot easier and faster as well as less fatiguing.

If you need to get the edge fixed on a knife that's been sharpened a bunch. Start right out with the course or extra course stone. Save yourself some time and heartache. Don't just stroke the hone with the edge but leave the stone on the blade and stroke it back and forth working the whole distance of the blade. Then swap to the other side and do about the same number of strokes on that side. Continue until you get a nice sharp edge then switch the progressively finer stones until you get that sucker so sharp you can shave with it easily.

It's hard to beat. I think the KME sharpener would be even more precise and exact. Thinking about getting one of those things. Dang!
